Have just been diagnosed with Plantar Fasciitis, but not yet seen a physio (appointment next week)... Am I still ok to run? I don't want to aggravate it further, but don't want to miss a run. Cheers

ruthieThe easy answer to any injury question would be a generic one that it all depends on your specific circumstances, and to stop if it hurts ...but that may be unhelpful, so I can go a bit further I saw Dave Bevan (podiatrist @moti) for plantar fasciitis in Jan-08 and, from my sparse records, was running in the days before and after. But apparently I had a minor case, and I used to run shorter distances than I do now (so it may not translate to me or you, now) I would guess that : - You won't have time to do much more damage before seeing the physio (and PF is something that develops over time); and
- If you want to run, it may not be a 'serious' case (else the first suggestion is likely to be "Stop impact activities for x weeks"); and
- If your shoes are ok, and you aren't trying to increase mileage/intensity, then (massage with your fingers, stretch your calves and) personally I would carry on
Any suitable disclaimers about specific circumstances, I'm not qualified, etc apply

I've experienced such intense foot pain that in the past I had to curtail my gardening activities. These shoes have given me back my gardening life. I can now stand again for hours without discomfort. Orthofeet are definitely not the most attractive shoes I've ever had, but they are qualitatively the most comfortable walking shoe I've ever put my feet into. The shoes were true to size, and were "out of the box" comfortable the first time I put them on. www.orthofeet.com/collections/plantar-fasciitis-shoes
