I have entered The Berlin Marathon (28 Sept 08) and I am looking for someone to train with. I am looking to be initially running approx 6 - 7 miles per session at a speed of 8 to 8.30 minute miles.
Because of other commitments Wednesday is not a good night for me. I can do most other nights as well as first thing Saturday and sunday mornings (early, aiming to start 9.30 ish).
There appears to be a beginners group leaving from My Moti on a Thursday evening, is there another group for more advance, improvers as well? If so, what time does it leave, how far and what sort of pace is set?
I live in Cotham.

@ geebee : If your Moti info is from [ mymoti.com/coaching.html] then yes, some wording may be a bit misleading Thursday evening run usually has two self-selecting groups : one at a steady pace and a faster one, with Dave Bird, doing hills/fartlek ...(but each takes care of anyone faster/slower than average, who chooses them). They leave 18.30-18.40, gently up Whiteladies Rd, then split, do a session of 3 to 4 miles(?), stretch, back to Moti There are other courses/coaches through Moti, but no other regular (free) run sessions at the moment ...just this board Hopefully you'll get some replies (registration not needed, people!), else there's a list of clubs [ mymoti.com/runningclubs.html] Try coming this Thursday, if you're free, or ask at the shop. If nothing else, I hope you'll find out my info is right!

@ geebee : I guess no replies yet Well, BadTri [ www.badtri.org/] has a regular Thursday run from the Pump Room (by swing bridge). I don't know details, but they're friendly and I don't _think_ you need to be a member to go along You could also try [ www.runningtogether.co.uk/], for a 'running buddy' As for Moti : I don't want to put off people looking for slower/shorter, but part of a group will run faster than 8 to 8.30min (doubling back, to regroup occasionally), and may do 5 miles ...plus the run to & from the Downs

I'm also in training for a marathon and need to get some mileage under my belt. I'm planning to do 18 miles leaving at 09:30 this sunday (10th August). Average pace 8 min miles and live in Cotham.

I can recommend Southville Running Club if you're nearby? We run on Tuesdays and Thursdays, plus there are a handful of us who do Sunday morning runs also. This Tuesday gone we had approx 50 people turn up, so there are sub groups for all levels. www.southvillerunningclub.co.uk
