Hi Guys,
Thought I would start a thread devoted to books and resources you have seen devoted specifically to run around the bristol area.
Here's a starter for ten..
This is the latest in the well known line of books including Crossing Boundaries-the community forest path and Crossing Boundaries- Around Bristol off road, on foot.
The following information isn't available on his website as we go to print www.closertothecountryside.co.uk/ so this is a first! (kind of).
From the book:
"The Inner Path" is a series of graded routes inspired bty the experience of completing The Green Man Challenge, which is a standing challenge to finish the 45-mile curcuit of the Community Forest Path around the conurbation of Bristol between dawn and dusk.
The routes in this book range from a 3-mile stroll around the centre of the city to the ultra-marathon course of the Challenge itself, with more than two-dozen gradiations in between. Aside from its intrinsic merits as a collection of routes for walking and running, this variety of routes has a practical purpose for anyone who wishes to increase their stamina.
Whereas the first book dealt with urban paths leading out to the Comunity Forest Path and the second from the path leading further out into the countryside, this deal with the path itself and with a series of paths linked to it.
What adds to the interest of the content is the graphical nature Chris has used to interpret, name and draw the paths. You will have to take a look to find out what he has done. Inspired
Can anyone suggest any further resources that would be useful to us all?
P.S. Did I mention we are selling them at Moti? ;D
P.P.S Not available on the online store at 16/11/09 but keep an eye out at shop.mymoti.com/68/books.aspx or come into store.
