I was wondering if anyone knew anything about IT band problems (self diagonosis...) I seem to be getting pain on the side of the knee and I have the Cardiff half coming up - help! Any advice much appreciated!

Hi mate
If the pain was on the outside or even the front i would say ITB band but not the inside!
How old are the shoes? Were they fitted for you or off the shelf? Upped your Mileage? done anything different in the past couple of weeks?
Do you have one leg longer (most do) than the other or a leg length discrepancy.

The shoes had probably had their day so I bought a new pair of Asics CT2130 from Moti (slight over pronantion on the right foot). The pain is definitely on the outside and a recent visit to Leon at Physio4motion confirmed that it is ITB, probably caused by a weak ankle and generally tight muscles... I think Im going to try the foam roller - what do you think? Dave
