Hi all, Coach Dave has given us an update on the training schedule for the rest of March and April. For March We say goodbye to dark evenings focussing primarily on stronger running: Thurs 19th: Fartlek - an informal set of efforts of different distances, speeds and gradients using lamp posts, trees etc., as markers; Thurs 26th: Hilly Intervals - efforts up the off-road track by Bridge Valley road. For April To celebrate Spring proper, we introduce more speed into your work: Thurs 2nd: Fartlek Pyramid - a controlled selection of long, medium and short bursts using markers; Thurs 9th: Short Hills - short, sharp bursts up a gradient; Thurs 16th: Tempo Running - training at just above your 10k race pace with jog recovery; Thurs 23rd: Aerobic Intervals - medium to long intervals with jog recovery; Thurs 30th: Combination Session - Bringing together the elements of previous weeks Training plans for subsequent months will be posted as they become available.
